The purpose of Lift Chi Up and Pour Chi Down Method (LCUPCD) is to collect and exchange one's own Hunyuan chi with the universe's Hunyuan chi to heal and maintain one's health.
For beginners, they should "just do" the LCUPCD form over and over again with an intention to heal while connecting to the great chi field. They should not drill on the technical points of the movements. This "just-do-it approach" has proven a good way to heal many chronic illnesses as shown at the Center in China. Yet as you progress in the practice, you might be interested in going into more detailed aspects of the movements. Mastering the details will enable you to have a deeper and better exchange of your own Hunyuan chi with that of the purest Hunyuan chi in the nature. The following diagrams will illustrate the proper way to do the push-push and press-down&up movements, the two most difficult but important movements of the form. |

PUSH-PULL: FRONT
1.Beginners: Push hands up like you would push up a window and then cup your palms as if you were grasping an apple. Then drop your shoulders, drop your elbows and then push your wrists and palms out. 2. Advanced Students: Rotate your shoulders up, in, down, and out (see adjacent figure) while keeping the tip of your middle fingers stationary. Aware your feet rooting to the ground. 3. Higher Level: After you are able to rotate your shoulders, then shift your attention to your Lower Dantian. Move your Dantian in six directions to create many "hands" from your entire body, for releasing and absorbing simultaneously.
All 3 levels: Release: think blue sky and beyond; absorb: think body deep inside. Naturally breathing.

Same as Push-Pull: front, except the directions are different. 1.Beginners: Push hands up like you would push up two windows and then cup your palms as if you were grasping two apples. PRESS UP & DOWN:
1. Beginners: Create a square by shifting body forward. down, back and up. Make sure the Mingmen is moving up instead of the buttocks up when doing the "up" motion. If you cannot put your hands on the top of your feet, then put them above them. 2. Advanced student: Shift attention to the Mingmen area and use the Mingmen as "the-tip-of-a-pen" to draw a circle. The circle is more subtle than the circle created by a drawing a square. Make sure not to squeeze your Dantian, which remains relaxed and full. 3. Higher Level: Connect with your Lower Dantian in six directions. The circle is even more subtler.
All 3 levels: Release: think blue sky and beyond; absorb: think body deep inside. Naturally breathing.
