Great story, Marian!

The only advice I would offer, Norma, is that if you experience pain as a result of your ankles being together(either during or after practice), then by all means put them a little apart. Every day or every week or whatever, challenge yourself to put them a little closer together. If you experience no pain, then give Marian's method a try.

I once asked Frank if I should only go down as far as I could without assistance when I was doing the wall squats or go all the way down and he said, go all the way down. So, by degrees, I have stretched out my muscles and tissue that the chi may flow more freely in its work to raise and lower my body. I still have to have assistance at the very bottom, but it is coming, slowly!

: Norma,
: I won't give you any advice but perhaps you can take heart from my experience.

: I started Chi Lel in May. I wobbled terribly when I began and for quite a while. But I just kept doing the best I could to follow the directions, not pushing but just relaxing and doing what I could.

: My balance is remarkably better now for Lift Chi Up Pour Chi Down. Almost no wobbling with my feet together. The improvement happened so subtly that I didn't even notice it until one day I thought, "Why, I'm not wobbling." I read that Chi Lel is supposed to help balance, and it certainly seems to.

: Now I am starting the Sequence 9 recently discussed on the forum, and I am having trouble with that similar to what others mention. But I hope that by taking the Forum advice,I will be able to proceed on this, too.

: Best of luck. Let us know how it goes.

: : After doing Chilel for a month I'm still having problems with balance when my feet are together. At first when practicing I'd put my feet a little bit apart so I could keep my balance but later on started putting my feet together even though I have trouble with balancing. I focus my mind deep into the earth and it doesn't seem to help. It puts strain on my ankles since they are constantly working at keeping me in balance. Is it better to continue with my feet together regardless of balance or should I have them a little bit apart? I thought that maybe over time my balance might get better. Thanks for any suggestions I can get.
: : Loving Chi to all,
