hearing lossPosted by Hla on October 23, 19100 at 23:16:31: In Reply to: Chi Lel for Elizabeth-Yes! posted by NancyCA on September 30, 19100 at 23:10:38: I had tried quite a few remedies. When I started losing my hearing, I was diagnosed as having autoimmune syndrome. I was given prednisone and then added chemotherapy (cytoxan). I really had problems then. Not only was I not able to hear better I had tinnitus as well. Then my oncologist said I should have IGIV and so ended up doing that for 5 months with a bill to my insurance for $100K. Did not work anyway. I tried acupuncture then. I thought my hearing started ot get better. Then the insurance pulled the plug on me and said I can only hve 10 times. I then tried again on my own money with another acupunture practitioner. It didn't do any good then. I tried chi gong and felt physically better. I also do chi lei and that helped with my health also. : : Hello. My name is Elizabeth. I just started taking a Tai Chi class three weeks ago. I also have been receiving accupuncture for 2 1/2 years. I have a "genetic" progressive hearing loss that started 12 years ago. Six years ago it got so bad that I now wear a hearing aid but still have much difficulty communicating. The accupuncture I believe has helped slow the progression but I am still looking for something that I can do that may help even reverse it. I have been reading info. on ChiLel Qigong & am interested in trying this. Can anyone specifically suggest what tapes to start with and also a book that may be helpful. I don't think anyone in my area practices this method. I think I am going to sign up for a retreat also but in the meantime would like to get started. Also if anyone knows someone that may have a hearing loss that has benefited from this or any related info. I would appreciate it. The only person that posted anything that I could find was someone named Marian. Marian if you found out anything could you e-mail me ? Thanks : Dear Elizabeth, Welcome to the forum. Yes, there are tapes (vidoe and audio) available and a Book called 101 Miracles of Healing, all available through this website. I am not very computer literate, but I assume if people are one the forum that they also have access to the whole Chi Lel website. These items can be ordered right from the website. Signing up for a workshop is a great idea from which you will benefit a lot. There are other people on the forum with hearing loss and no doubt they will eventually respond. The book tells of someone in China at the Qigong center there who had his hearing restored. THink positively. Your journey to health has begun. Much loving chi, NancyCA
