LET GO ARMS!Posted by Ginny W. on October 27, 19100 at 05:43:36: In Reply to: Tired arms posted by NancyCA on September 21, 19100 at 23:16:36: : : Does anyone else get really tired arms with all the raising during the Lift Chi Up, Pour Chi Down exercise? I suppose it is just a matter of continued practice. : Hi! Yes, many people get tired arms. If I have a new student for whom this is a real problem, I just tell them to put their hands on their navel briefly and envision the arms moving. They usually keep their arms up anyway, but sometimes the arms just get tired, and yes, in time, they will improve. My first Chi Lel Qigong lecture was about the arm movement, and it was not that long, but after practicing it off and on for awhile, I was practically in tears, and thought I could never do this. I am now an instructor at the first and second level, and have done the hour LCUPCD where you do push and pull about 50 times (as well as the push=pull tape. I have shoulder problems from former injuries, but still can do it. Sure, sometimes I get tired even now on long ones, but you will find yourself and your own pace. Good luck to you. Let the chi do the work and lift up your arms - like a wave of water lifting them up, them you don't have to work so hard! Much love and chi, NancyCA Aloha..in my experience with push-pulls and LCUPCD it helps most to NOT think about arms..think RELEASE-ABSORB...BLUE SKY FSR AWAY..the second round of push pulls the pain goes away..keep doing them! It will change! Hao-La! Ginny W. |
