Right On!Posted by Jim N on November 11, 19100 at 11:35:15: In Reply to: Level 2 breakthrough for me posted by Larry of Suburbia on November 09, 19100 at 16:01:58: That's great Larry. Sounds like you're right on track. When I asked Frank about this at the recent Oakwood Farm workshop he said the usual progression is 1. focus on a single point (eyes open) 2. broaden the focus, 3. move the focus around, 4. practice in the dark with eyes open, and 5. eyes closed. He also mentioned that it's better to put the foot down and do the movements than hold onto something because holding on to something changes the flow of chi. Take care, : Thursday evening I finally had a breakthrough on the foot thing in level 2. Balancing on one foot has alays been almost impossible for me. All of a sudden at work I saw a book with a letter "c" and thought to myself that I could use the tip of the letter as a focus point for doing it and it worked!!! I didn't even wobble and was able to get the thigh up to parallel to ground. I was even more shocked when I put the leg out to the side and did those movements and returned my foot to the beginning position without stumbling. My idea, now, is to continue to focus on a point for a while then start to focus on a larger object then an even larger object then focus on "nothing". It may take a while to acclomplish this but good things come to he who waits. When I showed my wife that I could do it without falling, she was impressed. It has taken me over 2 years to be able to do this part without holding on to something or falling over.
