Blood PressurePosted by TBA on November 25, 19100 at 16:27:55: In Reply to: High blood pressure posted by NancyCA on November 24, 19100 at 23:53:12: : : Thank you Dawn and Nancy for your suggestions and encouragement. I do have the level two videotape and have been thinking of trying it. It helps so much to get support and advice. : : At the Sedona workshop, several gongs were mentioned as good for high blood pressure, the haola hula was one. Another that I have found works with several of my clients is the part of LCU where you lift your hands to the sky, leaving them above your head for one breath, sending chi down the center of your body, then lower them to the navel. Instead, keep lowering your hands to the ground, while visualizing the blood pressure flowing into the earth. Then repeat this movement for, say, about 10 minutes or whatever you can do. When you feel ready, start the wall squats again, as they clear out all the meridians as well as increase the flexibility of the whole body. They even can count as aerobic exercise if your heart rate gets up high enough! : : Also, don't forget the traditional methods of lowering blood pressure: getting a handle on stress, weight, exercise, etc. Good luck in your journey; don't give up on LCU or Chi Lel; you will see results with hard work (practice) and strong affirmation/visualization and chi-grace. : : : I have been doing LCUPCD for nearly a year now and attended Frank's workshop in July. I have more energy and less back problems. The problem is that my blood pressure, which had been stable and considered borderline to mild hypertension for years, has been higher than ever since this summer. I feel there is some relationship with the Chi because I have felt such a powerful amount of energy. I stopped doing wall squats, but I am determined to complete a year long gong of the LCUPCD. Are there some people for whom another form of body/mind excersise (say Yoga) would be more suitable? Any comments would be much appreciated. : Dear TBA, If you have access to the second level, Body and Mind method, of Chi Lel Qigong, the exercise circling the foot and moving it up and down has produced excellent results with high blood pressure. It is done while standing on one foot, but can be done, if necessary, while sitting down. Keep on practicing. What Dawn says is very true. Much love and chi to you, NancyCA
