Here's a tip Luke gave me at a workshop, because often the problem is that the mingmen is not open enough: he suggested that I just practice squatting all the way down, with my heels flat on the floor and hold onto something. To balance the chi, do the head movements of Level 2 if you know them (Crane's Neck/Dragon's Head) while squatting all the way down. At first, one can only do a few minutes, then gradually build it up to 30+ minutes. Try it and see if it works. Hun yuan ling tong!

I can't seem to do the wall squats without holding on to something. If I'm not holding on to something, about half way down my backside pulls me over and I fall on my rump. I think I just lack the flexibility needed to do the exercise. Is it okay to practice it while holding on to something?
