Boost of Energy after Retreat
Dan Duplass

First let me say that the Lily Dale ChiLel Qigong retreat weekend was wonderful. I enjoyed it and felt great. There are benefits from the correct form and from doing ChiLel Qigong.

A few specific things I want to share: Whie working on relaxing my shoulders, I realized that I tense my shoulders a lot, even when just sitting. In my normal physical routine, I now swim with my shoulders lower and more relaxed. When I run, I drop my shoulders and find it is much more relaxing. It is awkward to get used to, but feels better. It is hard to believe that after all these years of running, I had been tensing muscles that I did not have to. The other night I was sitting on the couch and felt this wonderful feeling in my shoulders and body. The chi was flowing; I can hardly express my reaction. It has been enjoyable training and I love the feelings within my body. It feels wonderful. Having currently just in-creased my daily practice time, I am full of chi and really feeling great. However, as has happened in the past, I know there will be a lull in these feelings. But for now my mind is clear!

Small Miracle
Anne Yezzi, Columbus, Ohio

Several years ago I cut my leg on a display unit in a store. It was very slow to heal and in the process I developed psoriasis. It itched and was prone to bleeding sores which were unsightly and uncomfortable. Any time lotion was applied to relieve the scaling the itching and discomfort increased.

For treatment I tried every recommended ointment, oil, solution, and salve. No Improvement: it continued to spread. I wore slacks most of the time to conceal it.

I was introduced to Luke Chan and Chi Lel at a health expo I attended with my T'ai Chi teacher. We were impressed with Luke's demonstration and I purchased a tape from Luke to accept his challenge to practice 100 days.

A few weeks later I had the chance to participate in an eight-hour workshop which Luke was offering locally. We spent time improving and developing the form with a great deal of emphasis on healing. I was skeptical of any specific benefits being derived from my continued practice.

One evening, soon after this workshop, the itching was particularly miserable. It was then I thought to myself, "Why not?" So, as I sat watching TV, I sought to gather chi into my leg. Unable to precisely recall the specific words used in the workshop, I began repeating the word "voila!" I sued this word, supposing that it wouldn't make much difference anyhow.

Well, contrary to my expectations, the itching stopped and within days the area of the psoriasis had ceased spreading. En-couraged, I now doubled my efforts along with my daily practice. Within a few weeks my skin was no longer erupting and the sores were beginning to heal . I was able to apply lotion with no negative reaction. Today, only a shadow of scar tissue remains, which is fading. The incurable dermatitis was cured!

This was not a life-threatening condition, but it responded to Chi Lel. My thoughts are that to begin, we may start with small things and increase our capicity for more signigicant healing. I am still skeptical about the word "cure" but I have no doubt about the healing qualities of Chi Lel. I will stay with my daily practice, believing in the promises of Chi Lel.

Chi Lel and Multiple Sclerosis
Don Rutherford, Cincinnati, Ohio

I remember when I was first told that I had multiple sclerosis. A friend later took me to a restaurant to cheer me up. I sat there wondering what the future held for me. I have a wonderful job and I sat there wondering if I would be able to keep it.

At that time I could walk unaided only short distances. My hands were so uncontrollable that I could not read my own handwriting. I continuously experienced pain mixed with numbness.

Now I work forty-five hours a week on the average. I can button my shirt and dress standing up. This is quite a change. My doctor is very pleased with my efforts. I can still have "bad" days, but they are not as frequent. As I write this, I continue to improve.

I have done Chi Lel Qigong in the mornings for a year now. There were days when I could barely stand. Some days I can feel immediate results; some days I can't. This experience has shown me that persistence will triumph. I found that belief in chi was not required but that an open mind was essential. I'm still learning about chi, but I have learrned it does exist, and can be achieved with proper practice of technique. I've had good teachers.

Although the challenge is not over, I know that persistence and discipline will provide the know-ledge and tools needed to lead a healthy, productive life.

Daughter Helps Parents
Dolly Toto, Brecksville, Ohio

My Mom, Dolly Prinz, has been doing qigong with my Dad since August, 1995. They never miss a day, even if this means doing it at midnight before sleep. Their practice is not perfect, but it is perfect for them, and they are faithful.

A family friend who regularly visits us looked at recent photos and commented on how straight my Mom's back looked. He had never wanted to point out that she was hunching over more and more. It was then that we realized the subtle change. Her hunched shoulders, back neck and head were obviously more erect and straight. A very welcome health and appearance benefit in such a short time.

My Dad has had post-shingle pain for the past eleven and a half years without a moment's relief. This past fall, he had a few moments when he was miraculously pain free and he found his heart open and love flowing to me for introducing him to qigong. He thanked me, hugged me and told me how much he loved me. I know his brief moment of good health opened up his heart and made him a more expressive, grateful, and loving person, enabling him to express himself as never before. This was a gift to me.

My daughter, Dolly Toto, came home to visit us one day and told us about the wonderful exercise she has been doing and suggested we also should start doing the exercise for our health. So she gave us a cassette tape of the program. We have been exercising for almost half a year. Due to my arthritis, I've had a hard time shaving with my electric shaver. Also my circulation has improved quite a bit. I turned eighty-threeyearsold January 14 and hope to continue this exercise for the rest of my days
